Safety, Care & Tips

Cool-Ven Hot Plate Important Safeguards

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

  1. Read all instructions prior to using Cool-Ven.

  2. Do not touch hot surfaces.  If plate is hot, use insulated protective coverings to protect yourself from burns.

  3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or enclosure in water or other liquid.

  4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

  5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.

  6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.

  7. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces.

  8. Do not place on or near a gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.

  9. Extreme caution must be used when moving hot plate with containers full of hot liquids.

  10. Do not use Cool-Ven for other than intended use.

  11. The appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other).  To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.  If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.  Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

   a. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

   b. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

Care and Cleaning

  • Unplug the unit and allow it to cool to room temperature before cleaning.  Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners or abrasive scrub pads.

  • Do not submerge the device in water.

  • Cool-Ven is not dishwasher safe.

  • Use a soft, damp cloth or paper towel and a mild cleanser (if needed) to clean surfaces.

  • Do not spray cleaner directly on the surfaces to be cleaned.

  • Spray cleaner onto a cloth, then clean surfaces.

Cooking Hints

Leftovers and Meal Prep

Leftovers and meal prep are two of the most popular ways to use Cool-Ven.  Unlike the microwave, Cool-Ven will not dry out or burn your food nor do you need to set a timer.  Most leftover meals will be warm enough to eat in 45-60 minutes but will stay at the perfect eating temperature for hours.  Don’t be afraid to plug your Cool-Ven in and begin heating your meal a couple hours before you are ready to eat.

Cool-Ven has the ability to heat all food to 165 degrees so your meat will become well done is you leave it for hours.  Experiment with a shorter heat time to warm the meat perfectly and keep it as moist and tender as originally cooked.

Vegetable based meals are perfect for Cool-Ven.  They will maintain their moisture for hours and taste great.  Steam generated from the rest of your meal will assist in cooking your vegetables to perfection.

The Cool-Ven is MUCH better than a microwave for pasta.  If there is plenty of sauce surrounding your pasta, it will steam and be much more tender.  If your pasta is not heavily sauced, add a tablespoon or two of water to ensure perfect reheated pasta.

Bread (Sandwiches)

Use Cool-Ven to warm your sandwiches, but do not use them in a sealed container.  Instead, wrap them in parchment paper or foil and set directly on the heating element.  Bread gets hard on the bottom after extended times so check every 15 minutes.

Put a slice or two of pizza on tin foil or parchment paper and place directly on the heating element.  In 20-40 minutes, you will have a perfectly reheated pizza with a much crispier crust.

Noodles (Ramen)

Place dried noodles and seasoning packet in a container with appropriate amount of water and attach a lid.  Place container on the hotplate for approximately 1.5 hours.  Allow noodles to cook until tender.
